Saturday Series - Rooted in Respect: Inclusive Care for Every Journey

In senior living, every person carries a story — shaped by culture, faith, life experiences, and sometimes trauma. Rooted in Respect is a special session at our upcoming conference that centers those stories. We're creating space for open, honest conversation about how a person’s background — whether religious, cultural, or life history (including experiences like incarceration or immigration) — impacts how they give and receive care.

Section 1: Trauma-Informed Care in Senior Living

Participants will be able to:

1. Analyze how a person's life history, including adverse or traumatic experiences, may influence their behaviors, preferences, and responses in care environments.

2. Evaluate current care practices through a trauma-informed lens to identify opportunities for more compassionate, supportive interactions.

3. Design care strategies and communication approaches that reflect trauma-aware principles such as safety, trust, and empowerment.
