About the event
In 2019, the Texas Health and Human Services Commission introduced the "Meaningful Engagement to Enhance Quality of Life" initiative, commonly known as the ME Project. This program was designed to equip nursing facility staff—including activity directors, nurses, certified nurse aides, and ancillary personnel—with evidence-based best practices to develop person-centered activity programs. These programs aim to implement individualized activities that reflect each resident’s preferences, customary habits, and lifestyle.
This session revisits the core principles of the ME Project, emphasizing the importance of meaningful engagement in enhancing residents' quality of life. Participants will explore strategies to integrate these principles into personalized care plans, ensuring that activities are not only individualized but also resonate with each resident's unique background and interests. Led by Natalie Davis, the creator of the ME Project, this presentation offers practical tools and insights to rejuvenate your approach to resident engagement and care planning.
